Insurance Information

I am an Out of Network (OON) provider, which means that your health insurance may offer some reimbursement for my services. It’s important to contact your insurance provider directly to find out if they cover mental health therapy as an out-of-network benefit.

Questions to Ask Your Insurance Provider:

  • What are my out-of-network mental health benefits, specifically for therapy?

  • Do I have a deductible? If so, how much is it, and what coverage is available after I meet my deductible?

  • Will I need pre-authorization for services from an out-of-network provider?

What is a super bill?

As an OON provider, I can provide you with a receipt (often referred to as a "super bill" or "insurance reimbursement statement") at the end of each month. This receipt can be submitted to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Please note that I cannot guarantee approval or reimbursement for any claims made to your insurance provider, so it's best to reach out to them for specific guidance.

A note on choosing self-pay.

Many of my clients could use in-network insurance and choose not to. Paying directly means no diagnosis is required for your record, no insurance company decides how many sessions you get and nothing about your therapy is shared with anyone. For deeply personal work like grief, trauma and family estrangement, that privacy matters to a lot of people. If you have out-of-network benefits, a superbill can still bring your real cost down substantially, and HSA and FSA cards cover the full rate.

Your Journey, Your Needs

Quality online therapy is all about meeting you where you are and putting your needs first. As an out-of-network provider, I can offer high-quality, specialized, and individualized care that’s focused solely on you and your goals. This also means I can provide a higher level of confidentiality compared to in-network providers, so you can feel safe and secure sharing your thoughts and feelings.

I have a few frustrations with insurance when it comes to mental healthcare. For starters, many insurance plans limit the number of sessions you can have each year, no matter what you're experiencing. Even worse, they might deny reimbursement for services if they don’t align with what their billers think should be happening in our sessions. I believe that the decisions about your care should be made by you and your therapist, not by someone looking at the insurance company’s bottom line.

Do You Accept HSA and FSA?

Yes! Most people can use their HSA or FSA card to cover the full rate of therapy, making it easier to prioritize your mental health.

Payment Options

I accept all major credit cards. Payment is due at the time of your session.

Cancellation Policy

If you can’t make it to a session, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. If you miss an appointment without notice, you’ll be charged the full fee. Just reach out as soon as you know there’s a scheduling conflict.

Questions?

If you have any questions or need clarification, feel free to reach out! I’m here to help, whether it’s for a free 15-minute consultation or to book an appointment. Your mental health is important, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
